On July 27, the creators of the film «Icebreaker» and the company Cityquest opened a quest in Moscow dedicated to the disaster film of the same name, based on real events. Players will find themselves on an icebreaker trapped in ice off the coast of Antarctica. To escape from the icy captivity, each team of 2 to 4 people will have to solve complex puzzles.
«The story that formed the basis of the film is real – the icebreaker «Mikhail Somov» was in forced drift in the ice of Antarctica. The crew cannot leave the ship – there is nowhere to go anyway. Fuel and food supplies are running out, a confined space, continuous ice all around, terrible cold – not everyone can survive this, – says the general producer of the film «Icebreaker» Igor Tolstunov. – The film's actors have already experienced the «shoes» of polar explorers and know how difficult and dangerous this profession can be. And now a virtual trip to Antarctica is available to everyone who comes to the quest "Icebreaker"».
At the end of each month, the team that, after completing the quest, posts the most interesting photo from the game area with the hashtag #kvestledokol will receive prizes from the film «Icebreaker» and the chance to attend the premiere.
«Quests have long been popular. This is both entertainment, and communication with friends, and testing one's own capabilities, and a great alternative to computer games, – comments Cityquest's development director Alexander Goncharenko. – We always take very seriously the design and technical equipment of our game spaces, carefully think through the legend and the mechanism of passage, and the quest «Icebreaker» is one of the most difficult and interesting».
