On February 18 a closed premiere of the disaster movie «METRO» took place at the Oktyabr cinema. Among the first to see the film were Renat Davletyarov, Alexander Oleinikov, Ingeborga Dapkunaite, Andrei Grigoriev-Apollonov, Kirill Safonov and Sasha Savelyeva, Alena Babenko, Elena Zakharova, Alexander Tyutin, Natalia Lesnikovskaya, Igor Ugolnikov, Nikolai Fomenko and others.
In the theatre foyer that evening all guests could fully feel like passengers of the Moscow underground – a metro carriage set was installed on the ground floor, and the number of guests was in no way less than the flow of people at rush hour.
The film's general producer Igor Tolstunov introduced the director Anton Megerdichev to the audience. He, in turn, told the guests about the enormous work that the crew members gathered on stage and the post-production team had carried out.
«This is a unique project, and a huge team worked on its creation. Our film is not so much about a disaster – it's a picture about human relationships, understanding, trust, about how not to remain indifferent. And of course about my hometown Moscow, where, because of the crazy pace of life, all of us sometimes forget about what is most important – love, honesty, decency and the need to be attentive to one another,» said Anton Megerdichev.
Special attention went to the actors gathered on stage: Sergei Puskepalis, Anatoly Bely, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Alexey Bardukov, Stanislav Duzhnikov, Ekaterina Shpitsa, Elena Panova, Anfisa Vistingauzen – almost all of whom, during shooting, spent many hours in water and in enclosed spaces.
Anton Megerdichev gave special thanks to Dmitry Safonov – the author of the novel «METRO», with whom the whole story of making the film began almost two years ago.
The disaster movie «METRO» was released in wide distribution on February 21.
