On January 15 at the Stadium Live club, the shooting of the music video for the song «Molitva» (OST «METRO») took place.
The composition, performed by the band Bi-2, best emphasises the dramatic line of the film «METRO», reflecting the most important aspect – the value of human relationships in any situation, however extreme. «It is a prayer that everything works out for us, that our loved ones are always with us, and that love never leaves,» says Lyova. The music was written by Lyova and Shura of Bi-2, the lyrics by Lyova of Bi-2 and the band's flautist Yan Nikolenko, and the arrangement is by Evgeny Pankov. The song "Molitva" appeared on the album «Spirit» and became the final track on that release. For the new video's director, Alexander Andryushchenko, this is already his eighth collaboration with the band. Alexander directed such well-known Bi-2 videos as «Durochka», «Derzhatsya za vozdukh», «On ploho konchil», «Muza», «Iz-za menya» (OST «Ya ostayus») and others. The cinematographer of «Molitva» is Denis Chabanko.
«We weren't planning to make a music video for this song. But the producers of the disaster movie «METRO» called us to negotiate using the composition in the picture, and then offered to shoot a video. We watched the film, we liked it, and we agreed. Had we not liked the picture, we would have refused,» comments Shura.
«METRO» is the first Russian disaster movie in the past 26 years. For the shoot, unique sets were built in Moscow, designed to handle large volumes of water — the film is about the flooding of the Moscow underground.
«We haven't seen a Russian film like this in a long time — large-scale, with very believable visuals and a gripping story,» adds Lyova. «It shouldn't be compared with American blockbusters. In Russia cinema is developing along its own path. And this film is a clear confirmation that it really is developing.»
«And the cast is impressive too. I really like Sergei Puskepalis — his work in «How I Ended This Summer» and «Life and Fate» stuck with me,» continues Shura. «We know Tolya Bely personally, and Lena Panova too. It's nice to work on a project that your friends are involved in. We won't reveal the plot of the video yet — we'll just say that it will include the most striking shots from «METRO».»
Anton Megerdichev, director of «METRO»: «Out of the hundreds of compositions the music producer offered me for the finale, I chose this one.
It fits the film very well in meaning and settled perfectly onto the edited footage.»
The video for «Molitva» can be seen in early February on all the popular platforms on the internet and on top-rated music channels.
The disaster movie «METRO» is released in wide distribution on February 21, 2013.
